Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 8 oz semisweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chopped chocolate together until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing.
