Description

Ingredients

  • 1 large baguette or loaf of crusty bread
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190ยฐC (375ยฐF).
  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking tray.
  3. In a small bowl, mix butter and minced garlic.
  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread.
  5. In another bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Spoon the tomato mixture evenly over the bread.
  7. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese if using.
  8. Bake for 12โ€“15 minutes until the edges are golden and cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle fresh basil on top.
  10. Slice and serve warm.
