Ingredients
- 1 large baguette or loaf of crusty bread
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190ยฐC (375ยฐF).
- Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking tray.
- In a small bowl, mix butter and minced garlic.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread.
- In another bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Spoon the tomato mixture evenly over the bread.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese if using.
- Bake for 12โ15 minutes until the edges are golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle fresh basil on top.
- Slice and serve warm.
