Description

Crispy bite-sized chicken pieces tossed in a glossy, sweet, sticky honey garlic sauce for a fast and addictive appetizer or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for pan-frying)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or lemon juice)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry and place it in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Add cornstarch and toss until all chicken pieces are well coated.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning to brown all sides until crispy and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  6. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Whisk in honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
  8. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  9. Add the chicken back into the skillet and toss to coat in the sticky sauce.
  10. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Serve over rice or noodles for a full meal.
  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier texture.
  • Add broccoli or snap peas for extra veggies.
  • Double the sauce if serving with starch.
