Description

Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Grate potatoes and onion, then squeeze out excess moisture using a clean towel.
  2. In a bowl, mix grated potatoes, onion, egg, flour, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Scoop potato mixture and flatten into small pancakes.
  4. Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  6. Add garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes more until fragrant.
  7. Top each potato pancake with a spoonful of beef and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  8. Place under a broiler or cover skillet until cheese melts.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
