Ingredients
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 small onion, grated
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Grate potatoes and onion, then squeeze out excess moisture using a clean towel.
- In a bowl, mix grated potatoes, onion, egg, flour, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Scoop potato mixture and flatten into small pancakes.
- Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes more until fragrant.
- Top each potato pancake with a spoonful of beef and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Place under a broiler or cover skillet until cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
