Description

Pasta Beefaroni is a classic, comforting one-pot meal made with tender macaroni, seasoned ground beef, and a rich tomato sauce. This homemade version of the childhood favorite is hearty, flavorful, and perfect for a quick family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • 2 cups beef broth (or water)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (optional, for topping)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic to the beef and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Add uncooked macaroni and beef broth to the pot. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  7. If desired, stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Remove from heat and let stand for a few minutes to thicken.
  9. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add a dash of hot sauce or red pepper flakes for extra spice.
  • Stir in frozen peas, corn, or diced bell peppers for added veggies.
  • Leftovers reheat well — perfect for meal prep.
