Description
Onion Beef Fried Rice is a savory and satisfying one-pan meal made with tender beef, caramelized onions, fluffy rice, and simple seasonings for a quick and flavorful dish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked white rice (cold, day-old preferred)
- 200 g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
- Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until just cooked; remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining oil to the pan and sauté the sliced onion until soft and lightly caramelized.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Push the onion mixture to one side and pour in the beaten eggs; scramble until just set.
- Add the cooked rice, breaking up any clumps, and stir well to combine.
- Return the beef to the pan and add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper.
- Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until everything is heated through and evenly coated.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
Notes
- Use cold rice for best texture.
- You can substitute beef with chicken or shrimp.
- Add chili flakes or chili oil for extra heat.
