Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Press the meat mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish to form a flat meatloaf layer.
- Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes, until the meatloaf is cooked through.
- Carefully spread the prepared mashed potatoes evenly over the meatloaf layer.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the potatoes.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.
