Description

These healthy air fryer churro bites are a lighter version of the traditional fried treat, made with less oil but full of cinnamon-sugar flavor. Crispy on the outside and soft inside, they’re a guilt-free sweet snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 2 tbsp coconut sugar.
  3. Stir in almond milk, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into small bite-sized balls.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the dough balls in a single layer.
  6. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix 1/4 cup coconut sugar with cinnamon.
  8. While warm, toss the churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, drizzle with a little honey or dip in melted dark chocolate.
  • You can substitute all-purpose flour for whole wheat if desired.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer before serving.
