Description
These healthy air fryer churro bites are a lighter version of the traditional fried treat, made with less oil but full of cinnamon-sugar flavor. Crispy on the outside and soft inside, they’re a guilt-free sweet snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 2 tbsp coconut sugar.
- Stir in almond milk, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small bite-sized balls.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the dough balls in a single layer.
- Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1/4 cup coconut sugar with cinnamon.
- While warm, toss the churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
- For extra sweetness, drizzle with a little honey or dip in melted dark chocolate.
- You can substitute all-purpose flour for whole wheat if desired.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer before serving.
