Description
A delicious and easy crispy cauliflower recipe made with seasoned breading and baked or fried until golden brown. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil (if baking)
- Oil for frying (if frying)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) if baking. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In one bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In a second bowl, whisk eggs with milk.
- In a third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
- Dip each cauliflower floret first in flour mixture, then in egg wash, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- For baking: Arrange florets on prepared sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and crispy.
- For frying: Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry florets in batches until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce such as ranch, marinara, or spicy aioli.
Notes
- Air fryer option: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- Make it vegan by using plant-based milk and egg substitute.
- Season the breadcrumb coating with chili flakes or herbs for extra flavor.
