Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (penne or spaghetti)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and reserve 1/4 cup pasta water.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add heavy cream and stir until sauce is smooth.
- Add cooked pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water; toss to coat.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.
