Description

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add chicken broth and stir to loosen any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low, then add the heavy cream and Dijon mustard. Stir well to combine.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and the chicken to reheat.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Serve this creamy paprika chicken with a side of rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
  • For a lighter version, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
