Creamy Chicken Taco Dip is a rich, cheesy, and crowd-pleasing appetizer that combines tender shredded chicken, taco seasoning, cream cheese, and melted cheese. It’s the ultimate party dip — creamy, spicy, and perfect with tortilla chips or fresh veggies.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 ounce)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or pepper jack cheese
- 1 cup salsa or Rotel tomatoes (drained)
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro (optional)
- 1 small jalapeño, finely diced (optional for spice)
- 1 cup crushed tortilla chips (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in shredded chicken, salsa, half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, green onions, and jalapeño (if using).
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Top with the remaining shredded cheese.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
- Optional: Sprinkle crushed tortilla chips on top during the last 5 minutes for a crunchy topping.
- Remove from oven and garnish with chopped cilantro and extra green onions.
- Serve warm with tortilla chips, pita chips, or veggie sticks.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for a quick and flavorful shortcut.
- This dip can also be made in a slow cooker on LOW for 2–3 hours.
- Add black beans or corn for extra texture and flavor.
- Leftovers can be used as a filling for tacos, burritos, or quesadillas.
