Description

Creamy Chicken Taco Dip is a rich, cheesy, and crowd-pleasing appetizer that combines tender shredded chicken, taco seasoning, cream cheese, and melted cheese. It’s the ultimate party dip — creamy, spicy, and perfect with tortilla chips or fresh veggies.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 ounce)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or pepper jack cheese
  • 1 cup salsa or Rotel tomatoes (drained)
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro (optional)
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely diced (optional for spice)
  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in shredded chicken, salsa, half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, green onions, and jalapeño (if using).
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Top with the remaining shredded cheese.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle crushed tortilla chips on top during the last 5 minutes for a crunchy topping.
  8. Remove from oven and garnish with chopped cilantro and extra green onions.
  9. Serve warm with tortilla chips, pita chips, or veggie sticks.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for a quick and flavorful shortcut.
  • This dip can also be made in a slow cooker on LOW for 2–3 hours.
  • Add black beans or corn for extra texture and flavor.
  • Leftovers can be used as a filling for tacos, burritos, or quesadillas.
