Description
A bold and flavorful dish with succulent shrimp and juicy steak in a creamy Cajun sauce. Perfect for a hearty and satisfying meal that brings a kick of spice.
Ingredients
- 2 ribeye steaks or strip steaks (about 8 oz each)
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Season both sides of the steaks with salt, pepper, and half of the Cajun seasoning.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook to your desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove steaks from the skillet and set aside to rest.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the shrimp. Season with the remaining Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Reduce the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream, chicken broth, and Dijon mustard. Stir to combine and simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and stir to coat in the creamy sauce. Slice the rested steaks and serve them with the creamy Cajun shrimp over the top. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
- For an even richer flavor, you can add 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce while it simmers.
- Serve this dish with a side of rice, mashed potatoes, or sautรฉed vegetables for a complete meal.
- Adjust the level of spice by controlling the amount of cayenne pepper or Cajun seasoning used.
