Description
A decadent Black Forest Cheesecake with a rich chocolate cookie crust, creamy chocolate cheesecake filling, and a luscious cherry topping finished with whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 24 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 3 large eggs
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- Chocolate shavings (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a bowl, combine cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan to form a crust.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Mix in sour cream, then add eggs one at a time, beating just until combined.
- Stir in melted chocolate and vanilla until fully incorporated.
- Pour cheesecake batter over prepared crust and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until center is set but still slightly jiggly. Turn off oven, crack the door, and let cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.
- Remove from oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, top cheesecake with cherry pie filling.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Pipe or spread whipped cream around the edges.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings and serve chilled.
Notes
- For best results, use a water bath to prevent cracks in the cheesecake.
- Chill cheesecake overnight for the richest flavor and texture.
- You can make homemade cherry topping instead of canned for a fresher taste.
