Description

Classic banana bread is a moist, tender loaf made with ripe bananas and warm vanilla flavor—easy to prepare and perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas and melted butter until combined.
  3. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon if using.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
  6. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and sweetness.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
