Description

Apple Caramel Bombs are warm, gooey pastries filled with cinnamon-spiced apples and caramel, wrapped in flaky biscuit dough, and baked to golden perfection. A quick and irresistible dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8-count) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 8 soft caramel candies
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Optional: caramel sauce and powdered sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add the chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for 3–4 minutes until the apples are slightly softened. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Flatten each biscuit dough piece into a circle about 4 inches wide.
  4. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture and one caramel candy in the center of each dough circle.
  5. Fold the edges of the dough up and around the filling, pinching to seal completely, and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  6. Brush each bomb with the beaten egg mixed with water for a glossy finish.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • Use Granny Smith apples for a tart flavor that balances the sweetness of caramel.
  • Ensure the dough is well-sealed to prevent caramel from leaking out during baking.
  • These can also be made in an air fryer at 350°F for about 10–12 minutes.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
